Mrs. Ernestine Juanita Mounts, 91, a resident of Royal Oaks Street, died Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. She was born in Pike County, KY, December 29, 1920 a daughter of Oliver Slater and Hattie Lawson Slater. She was a member of Lexington Church of Christ and had retired as cafeteria manager of Thomasville Middle School and later Liberty Drive Elementary School. On October 3, 1937 she was married to Huling Grover Mounts, Jr. who died December 12, 2003. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Carole Ruth Thompson and husband Irven of Mooresville, and Betty Sue Maynard and husband Nelson and Ruby Jean Blair and husband Barney, both of Thomasville; two sons, Gary Randal Mounts and wife Kimsley of Spanish Fork, AL and Douglas Keith Mounts and wife Susi of Bowling Green, KY; two sisters, Janice Maynard of Turkey Creek, KY and Noka Olaker and husband Burl of Williamson, WV; a brother, J.D. Slater of Brentwood, TN. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 AM at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville. Burial will be at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 10AM until the hour of service and other times at the residence.
