Lloyd Vernon Slape
Lloyd Vernon Slape, of Rainier, died at Meadow Park Care Center in St. Helens on Friday. He was 80.
He was born April 26, 1922, in Alpena, Ark., to Robert Millard and Jessie Pearl (Barkley) Slape.
He was born disabled.
Mr. Slape was educated in Alpenn, Ark. , then later moved to Columbia County.
He was a member of the Scappoose Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing his guitar.
He is survived by three brothers, Doyle, Wade and Joe Slape; one sister, Dorsella O'Neil; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at HaakinsonGroulx Mortuary Chapel in Rainier.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., with Dennis Daniels officiating; from the Church of Christ in Scappoose. A committal service will follow at Green Mountain Cemetery.
