SKYLES-- At her home in Jefferson township, Lee co., Ia. Sunday Sept 23, 1906 at 10 a.m., Mrs. Elizabeth Skyles, widow of the late Benjamin Skyles, aged 77 years, 11 months and 5 days.
The deceased was born in Bedfordshire, England, Oct. 28, 1829. Elizabeth Wright was married Feb 14, 1850 to Samuel Conlee, of which union two children were born, James who died several years ago and Marg, now Mrs. Argisbright of Kansas city, MO., who has been making her home with her mother for about a year and caring for her. Samuel Conlee died Sept 20, 1860. On June 4, 1864, Mrs. Conlee married Benjamin Skyles, who died Dec. 13, 1901. No children were born of this union.
Mr. Skyles was a veteran of the Blackhawk War. Mrs. Skyles was a resident of Jefferson township about 60 years. She was a member of the Baptist church and a woman highly respected by all who knew her. Funeral Wednesday, Sept 26, at 10 a.m. from Eden Chapel. Interment in the Wilson Cemetery
