HILDA A. SKIDMORE

Hilda Amelia Peterson, daughter of Eric and Amelia Peterson, was born February 19, 1882, at Goteburg, Sweden, and died in her home at Lucas, Iowa, January 3, 1951.

She came to Lucas county in her early youth and had lived in Lucas for 60 years. She was a member of the Swedish Lutheran church.

On July 27, 1901, she was married to John T. Skidmore. To this union three daughters and two sons were born. Two daughters, one dying in infancy and Ruth on Dec. 21, 1948, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Everett VanScoy, of Osceola, two sons, Edwin, of Lucas, and Melvin, of Des Moines, four granddaughters and two grandsons and other relatives and many friends.

Services, under the direction of the Beardsley Funeral Home were held from the Presbyterian church at Lucas Friday, January 5, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Archie Beals officiated. Interment was made in the Chariton cemetery.
