Sivacek, Virginia Louise
Was born March 4, 1922 and died on October 9, 2010 at the age of 88. Virginia (aka Ginny) was the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Kapp) Milcer. She was a lifelong resident of Ann Arbor, and is predeceased by her husband Elmer and her brother Douglas Milcer. Virginia is survived by her two sons John (Kas) and James (Mary Lynn). Virginia was a graduate of Ann Arbor High School and Hamilton Business School, and she continued as a member of her parent's church, The Bethlehem United Church of Christ. Virginia married E. Elmer Sivacek on May 15, 1943. Elmer and Ginny were both avid gofers and traveled the world together playing golf. She has been a member of Barton Hills Country club since 1953, and Ginny and Elmer were also active members of the "200 Club". In addition to their residence in Ann Arbor, Ginny and Elmer wintered at their residence in Jupiter, FL. There they were members of Jupiter Hills Country Club.In addition to being an avid gofer, Ginny had a keen interest in interior decorating (especially Asian art), and was a model for the Women's City Club during the late 1960's. Virginia was a dedicated wife and mother. Late in her life she was the sole caretaker for Elmer after he developed Alzheimer's disease until the time of his death in 2007. The family will receive friends Tuesday October 19 beginning at 10 a.m. at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor, and the service will commence at 11 a.m. The service will be immediately followed by entombment at Washtenong Memorial Park.
