Robert Peer Siskind, 67, of West Lafayette, professor of electrical engineering at Purdue University since 1941, died at 8:10 PM Saturday [Jan. 10, 1970] in Lafayette Home Hospital, where he had been a patient four weeks. Born at Boston, MA, he was reared at Brookline, MA. In 1934, he married Ruth Robbins, who survives.
A graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in electrical engineering in 1924, Siskind received his MS degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Engineering. He taught in the Harvard Graduate School from 1925 until coming to Purdue as an associate professor in 1938. He was promoted to full professor in 1941.
Prof. Siskind was a member of Lafayette Rotary Club and Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Xi and Eta Kappa Nu, professional engineering honorary fraternities. He was scheduled to retire from Purdue this June. He specialized in the field of electrical communications and communications networks.
Surviving with his widow are a daughter, Mrs. Dale [Linda Chandler] Mulvey of Lafayette; and six grandchildren.
