INDIANAPOLIS STAR - Connie Witt 1938 - 2004 Age 66, Lebanon, formerly of Zionsville, died Saturday, October 23, 2004. She resided at Hickory Creek at Lebanon, in Lebanon. Born in Anderson, IN on July 8, 1938, she was the daughter of Charles Joseph and Betty Geneva (Waitt) Sims. She married Phillip Richard Witt on July 9, 1959 in Indianapolis, IN. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Connie retired from Key Bank, Zionsville as a bank teller in 1988, previously worked as an aide and kindergarten teacher at Zionsville Community Schools, and at the Federal Bureau of Investigations in Washington, D.C. in 1959. She owned and operated the Gingerbread House and Eagle's Nest Nursery Schools in Zionsville from 1970 -1976 in Zionsville. She was a member of the Zionsville Christian Church and Business and Professional Women's Club; a former Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher, Zionsville Little League Parent Association, and ZHS Band Booster President for 3 years.
Connie is survived by children Carolyn Sue "Carrie" and Chris Dimiceli, Jeffrey Allen Witt and Richard Eric and Tammy Witt; and by 7 grandchildren, Andrew and Ben Witt, Catherine and Caleb Dimiceli and Erica, Jordan and Logan Witt. Other survivors are brother, Mark Charles Sims, Thorntown; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Fuqua, Biloxi, MS and Myrna (George) Loe, Peru, IN. A celebration of Connie's life will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Zionsville, 105 W. Pine Street, Zionsville, IN. Services will Follow on Thursday, October 28 at the funeral center at 10:30 a.m., Dr. William McGraw and Rev. Becky Nunnally officiating. Burial will be at the Frances Slocum Cemetery in Wabash County, IN.
