Mrs. Ruby Estelle Sims, 89 a lifetime resident of Calhoun County passed away March 3, 2006, at Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Sims will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a precious friend to many.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2006, at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Clark and Jimmy Chandler, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn Jones and husband, Larry, of Alexandria, Debbie Chandler and husband, Jimmy, of DeArmanville; two step-sons, Jimmy R. Sims and wife, Madgalene, of Anniston, Roy Miller and wife, Barbara, of N.C.; one sister, Cara Liverett, of Covington, La.; two brothers, Arnold Hammett and Ruben Crider, both of Fort Worth, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Jefferey Clark and wife, Debbie, Jimmy Chandler Jr. and wife Angela, Wesley Chandler, Sheri Bell and husband, Andy, Julie Clark, Lori Johnson, and Michelle Dolittle; fourteen great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; and one special friend and caregiver, Carol Warren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Clark, Wesley Chandler, Andy Bell, Cole Clark, Zachary Bell and Tyler Clark. Mrs.
Sims was of the Baptist Faith and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church for nine years and United Freewill Baptist for forty years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Sims; her mother, Lucinda Gordon; sister Martha Bolton; five brothers; her grandson, Michael Clark; and step-daughter, Earlene Sankey.
