MRS. SIMPSON PASSES AWAY; FRIENDS MOURN
DEATH OF LARAMIE WOMAN ONLY 25, COMES AS A SAD SURPRISE.
Many friends were saddened today over the death of Mrs. Harry Simpson of this city, who died in the Mercy hospital, Denver, at 7:30 o'clock Saturday evening, following an operation that had been performed May 10.
Mrs. Simpson's death came suddenly — just when every indication pointed to her recovery. A card had just been received by her husband, who is employed at the Laramie Grocery company, stating that she was feeling well and that she anticipated making the trip to Laramie Tuesday. Her friends here were much relieved upon hearing this news and her death shortly afterward came as a distinct surprise.
It is believed that her heart became affected, as to all appearances she had practically recovered from the operation.
Was 25 Years Old.
Mrs. Simpson was 25 years old in March. She was Miss Augusta Lemke before she was married and was a Denver girl, having lived in that city practically all the time until she was married. She and Harry Simpson were married in Denver on August 25, 1910.
She leaves, besides her husband, an attractive-looking boy of three - Dwane Simpson.
The remains will arrive here on No. 19 tomorrow evening. Her mother, Mrs. Rininger, and her sister, Matilda Lemke, are coming here for the funeral, which will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Dean Thornberry officiating. The pall-bearers will be Charles Hegewald, Thomas Dodge, Matthew Marble, Charles Erne, William Hogben and Oscar Peterson, all employes of The Laramie Grocery company. This store will be closed during the funeral.
Expressions of sadness were frequent here today, for Mrs. Simpson was a good, lovable woman. She was quiet of disposition, but had the faculty of holding the many friends she made. She will be greatly missed.
