Garneta E. Butrick, 70, died February 3, 2005 at Topeka, KS. She was born December 21, 1934 near White Cloud, KS to the late Joseph and Kitten (Simmonds) Simpson.
Garneta was raised in White Cloud and graduated Reserve Rural High School in 1952 at Reserve, KS. She married Thomas W. Butrick on April 25, 1953 at Hiawatha, KS and they made their home on a farm five miles west of White Cloud. Garneta worked with her husband on the farm, she also worked at Falls City Creamer, Southeast Nebraska Community Action and was a CNA for Midland Villa Nursing Home. In August of 1957 they moved in to Falls City and she has lived here since.
Garneta was a member of First United Methodist Church and VFW Auxiliary both of Falls City and OES Chapter #234 at Humboldt, NE.
Garneta is survived by her husband Thomas of Falls City, sons, Thomas of Rulo, NE, Clayton and his wife April, Douglas all of Falls City, daughters, Phyllis Kreutzer and her husband Wayne of Rulo, Sherry Huppert and her husband Dan of Falls City, seventeen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy, Edwin, Arthor, Charles and Robert, grandsons, Jason Stice in infancy, Luke Stice and Kyle Huppert.
Funeral services will be held on February 8, 2005 10:30 AM at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Weinert officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:30-5:30 PM at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home.
