Emma Ruth Simpson, 102, of Keokuk, formerly of Hamilton, Ill., died at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at River Hills Village in Keokuk.
Born June 11, 1910, in Council Bluffs, she was the daughter of Henry C. and Emma M. Little Hall. On Nov. 20, 1929, she married Harry R. Simpson in Hamilton. He died Nov. 25, 1994.
Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker and had worked as a seamstress in her early years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Hamilton since 1930.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Daniel Simpson of St. Paul, Minn., and David Christensen of Justin, Texas; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son and her parents.
No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated.
The memorial service for Mrs. Simpson will be at a later date and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
A memorial has been established.
Lamporte-St. Clair Funeral Home in Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
