A Tribute To Cora Evelyn Flaherty
On September 21st, eighteen hundred ninety-seven. Cora Evelyn Simpson bid farewell to home in Heaven. She was welcomed by her parents who had waited for her birth, just to fill a special mission in their humble home on earth.
She was a mother unto many as she counseled young and old, always pleasant ever smiling with a heart of pure gold. She gave comfort to the people that she met along life's way, and we're glad to pay tribute as we honor her today.
How fortunate upon life's highway are the travelers when they find, true friends like Lee and Cora with a family good and kind. Our burdens then are lighted as our load they gladly share, whenever there was work to do the Flaherty's were there.
Cora loved the sound of music and she seemed to never tire, she sang with singing mothers and the Tabernacle choir. She was such a fine example of the Saviors' golden rule, first to get the bright idea of the Jr. Sunday School.
She calmed the fears of the doubtful as the Savior calmed the waters, by her sweet and gentle persuasion she inspired her sons and daughters. Helping cheer the sick and weary was her happiness in life, Lee Flaherty for fifty years has loved his faithful wife.
She was like a lovely flower whose sweet fragrance fills the air, with so many precious talents and willingness to share. She was ready for the master when HE made the final call, God has plucked another flower from our garden wall.
She finished the task God gave her, no job did she ever shirk, peace in her home and joy in her heart redeemed through her faithful work. Through courage and faith her prayers have been heard, heaven now rejoices, as once again the heavens ring with the sweetness of her voice.
