Simkins, Sarah Alice Simkins-Atteberry Obituary - Sarah Alice Simkins was born in Knox County, Illinois, October 1, 1859. She was united with her now deceased husband, Frank Atterbury, August 27, 1877. To this union there were born 7 children, 5 of whom preceded her to the Spirit Land. The daughter, Mrs. Kate Raney, Kimble(sp) Kans.; Clay of LaHarpe, their father, one brother and five sisters, with six grandsons, survive to mourn her loss.
In early life Sister Atterbury was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church. But on account of bodily afflictions she was not able to attend the church services in recent years and was not affiliated with the church in LaHarpe, Kansas.

The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. William L. Morris in the LaHarpe Methodist church Tuesday at 2:00 p. m. and the interment was made in the LaHarpe cemetery. (The Iola Daily Register, Iola, Allen Co., Kansas, 04Mar1925, pg7)
