Beverly Sue Simms Ayers, age 66, of 573 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 5, 1944 in Hinton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James D. Simms and Anna Jean Stinnett Simms.
She was a retired registered nurse with 37 years of service from Alleghany Regional Hospital and the former Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital in Clifton Forge.
She was a member of the Clifton Forge Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Delano "Frank" Ayers in 1992, by a son, Jonathan Franklin Ayers, and by a brother James D. Simms, Jr.
She is survived by a daughter, Amy Ayers, and a son, Michael Ayers, both of Clifton Forge; a daughter-in-law, Sarritta Ayers of Covington; 4 grandchildren, Allisha Ayers, Trinity Ayers, Logan Ayers and Justin Dunbar; very special cousins, Kay Cochran and Bobbi Shumate, both of Roanoke, and Becky Dillon and Terry Payne, both of Hinton, West Virginia.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Glenn Linthicum officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the funeral service. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
