Mrs. Edith Bourbeau
Funeral services were held Monday in the Roderick-Ward funeral home for Mrs. Edith Bourbeau, 88, former Evansville area resident who died Saturday in a Janesville hospital after a brief illness. the Rev. William A. Riggs, pastor of Cargill Methodist Church, Janesville, officiated.
The daughter of Manford and Matilda Simmons, she was born March 12, 1870, in Dayton, Green county, and married William Bourbeau in February, 1892. Most of her married life, with the exception of a few years residence in Iowa, was spent in Evansville. She had lived in Janesville for the past 10 years. Mrs. Bourbeau was a member of the Evansville Methodist Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Rollo Dobson, and a son, Wayne, both of Janesville; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Her husband, a son Elmore and a daughter hazel Brunsell, preceded her in death.
Pall bearers were grandsons Rollo and John Brunsell, Jr., Darrell, Lowell and William Bourbeau and Maurice McCarthy.
Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
