Mrs. Mary Allis Dies on Monday
Widow of manufacturer, Long Ill
Passes Away at Age of 70
Mrs. Mary Phillips Allis, widow of William W. Allis, died at her home 403 Kane Place, late Monday afternoon.
Mrs. Allis had been in poor health for several years, and had been acutely ill the last two months.
She was born in 1852, her maiden name being Mary Simmoins Phillips In 1877 she was married to William Watson Allis, the oldest son of Edward Phelps Allis, founder of the E P. Allis company, which has since become the Allis Chalmers Manufacturing company. Her husband died in 1918.
Mrs. Allis is survived by four sisters, Mrs. William Bigelow, Mrs. Mary Austin, Mrs. R. G. Reineck and Mrs. Archie Coates, and by one daughter, Mrs. Paul Kuder.
Funeral services will be held at Forest Home chapel Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock.
