Lula Frances Simmons Ausley, 91, of Burlington died at the Coble Healthcare Center at Twin Lakes on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Harry William Ausley and the daughter of James Thomas Simmons and Daisy Stainback Simmons, both deceased. She retired from the textile industry and loved traveling, painting, and making crafts. She attended Andrews Memorial Baptist Church.

Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include five children, Cathy Thompson and husband David of Burlington; Deborah Baker and husband David of Greenville, SC; Alan Ausley and wife Gloria of Burlington; Patrick Ausley and wife Mary of Walnut Cove; and Tamara Isley and husband Jimmy of Cedar Grove; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucy Simmons Kimbro, Pauline Simmons Aldridge, and Beatrice Simmons McKinney.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. by Rev. Scott Schuyler and Dr. Tommy Willis with the family receiving friends from 12:00 noon to 1:15 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Other times the family will be at the residence.
