John Melville Simmons, Sr, Age 91 passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013. Graveside Services will be conducted, 2:30 pm Thursday, September 19, 2013 At the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville with Rev. Karon Compton and Rev. Bill Neely officiating.
Mr. Simmons was a native of Cobbtown, Tatnall County, Georgia and was the son of the late William Jasper Simmons and the late Lois Patterson Simmons. He was a retired manager for Bellsouth/ AT&T. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise Herring Simmons of Eatonton, Son, John Simmons, Jr. of Eatonton, and a brother Williams Jasper "Nick" Simmons and wife Gail of Big Canoe.
