JOHN SIMMET PASSES AWAY AT NEKOOSA HOME
John Simmet, aged 72, for many years a resident of Nekoosa, passed away at his home in that city on Friday evening about 10:25 o'clock. He had been ill for some time. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 2, at 9 o'clock daylight savings time, in the Sacred Heart church, the Rev. Fr. Theodore Fraling officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Simmet was born on July 27, 1858, at Eilinger on the Rhine in Germany. He came to this country in 1880, and was married to Augusta Rosobem of Chicago in 1882.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Augusta, and five sons, Louis, William and Ed, all of Nekoosa, John of Kellner, and Otto of Los Angeles, Cal. There is also one brother, Henry, still in Germany, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. and Mrs. Simmet lived in Nekoosa for 32 years.
*Son, Adolph Ludwig "Otto" Simmet is buried in Galt cemetery, Galt, Sacramento, California.
