Charlotte "Lottie" A. Simmet, 92, of Sleepy Eye, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at the Divine Providence Community Home. Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, Jan. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with interment in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Charlotte was born on Jan. 13, 1908, in New Ulm, the daughter of Anton and Anna (Kitzberger) Simmet. She grew up and attended school in New Ulm. Lottie was a long time resident of Sleepy Eye. In Dec. of 1995, she moved to Divine Providence Community Home where she made her home until the present time. Lottie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye.
She is survived by her nephew, James B. and wife Ellen Leary of Littleton, Col. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Peter and Anton (Tony) Simmit; and sisters, Bertha Leary and Mabel Dietz.
Casket bearers were: Pete Schmitz, Jim Schwartz, Larry Soukup, Phil Heymans, Leander Sellner and Richard Callanan.
