Mrs. Isaac A. Buckingham unexpectedly died about 3:30 this afternoon at her home, 634 W. William street. She has suffered from heart failure for years dating from an attack of pneumonia when she was a young woman.
Mrs. Buckingham was about 64 years of age. Surviving are the husband, Hon. I. A. Buckingham, one of the most prominent attorneys and Democrates in this district, two daughters, Miss Maria L. Buckingham, who lived at home and Mrs. Lynn M. Barnes who lived at 833 W. Eldorado street. One son died at the age of nine or ten months. He would be about 35 years old had he lived.
Mrs. Buckinghams maiden name was Martha Simpkins. She was born in Claremont county, Ohio.She married in July, 1862 and came to Decatur in 1863.
Besides her immediately family she leaves one brother,Amos Simpkins, in Claremont county, Ohio and these sisters, Mrs. James Johnson, Greenville, Ill, Mrs. James Marsh, Marion, Ind and Mrs. McCormick, Goshen, Ohio.
Mrs. Buckingham was one of the most prominent workers in the First Baptist church.
