JOHNSON, Lelia Mae - Age 87, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Genesys Regional Medical Center - Health Park. Family hour 10:30AM Friday, August 10, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Bishop Isaiah Elam officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Friday. Lelia Mae Johnson now lies in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM today. Lelia Mae Johnson was born May 15, 1920 in Enfield, North Carolina, the daughter of Dorsey and Mary (Thorne) Silver. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a long-time member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Lelia Mae Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: children, Joseph (Faye) Johnson, Elton Johnson, Darlene Johnson, all of Flint, Darrell (Bertina) of Grand Blanc, MI, and Richard Johnson of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Lizzette (Calvin) Yates of Enfield, NC, Erma (Isaiah) Elam of Woodbridge, NJ, and Andray (Eugene) Johnson of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Roosevelt (Julia) Silver of Goldsboro, NC; a host of grandchildren and great-granchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lelia Mae Johnson was preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph J. Johnson; parents, Dorsey and Mary Silver; 7 sisters; 4 brothers; and great-grandson, Treon Johnson. The family would like to express special thanks to Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr., and the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family and all of those offering support to the family at our time of bereavement.
