When a young man who serves as a Christian role model to his family, coworkers, and the youngsters whose lives he touched passes from this life at age 30, the entire community weeps. Yet no one doubts that Darius has reached his true goal today, and is at peace.
Darius is remembered for his ability in football and track at Freedom High School. After graduation, he chose to work with those of a different kind of exceptionality when he began his work at J. Iverson RIddle Developmental Center.
One thing he will most be remembered for is his devotion to the Lord and the fact that he brought at least forty people into his church. He was an active member of The Rock Church. He served as an usher and sang in the choir.
Darius Antwuan Silver was a son of Sheryl Fleming Johnson and her husband, Robert Johnson of Morganton, and the late Hubert V. Marrow, Jr.
The epitaph on his marker attests to his loyalties.
Darius is survived by his wife, ; his children, ; a brother,; maternal grandmother; step-brother and step-sister,; three nieces; and five aunts; and an uncle.
In addition to his father, Darius was preceded in death by grandfathers, James Fleming and Hubert Marrow, Sr.

Sossoman Funeral Home & Crematory Center assisted the family with arrangements.
