María Dolores Silva Sánchez, previously a resident of Truth or Consequences, passed away on January 16, 2012 at St. John's Health Care Rehabilitation Services and Nursing Facility in Albuquerque, NM.
María was born on May 3, 1916 in Cuchillo, NM to Fabian and Marianna (Gonzáles) Silva.
María lived in Santa Clara, NM until her marriage to José Perfecto Sánchez. They began their married life in Cutter, NM. Dolores and her husband, José, decided to purchase their home in Truth or Consequences, NM on June 25, 1956.
Her husband's untimely death occurred on January 20, 1960.
María chose to raise the children in the same residence until she came to live in Albuquerque, NM in 2004.
María was a very kindhearted and honest person throughout her long and blessed life. Family was of great importance to her, and it was very obvious she was loved by many. María enjoyed the many visits she had on her last days.
Survivors include her sons, Lorenzo Sánchez and Gilberto Sánchez and his wife, Bernadette, of Albuquerque, NM, her daughters, Marianna S. Krauss and her husband, Dennis of Albuquerque, NM, Rosita S. Armendariz of Las Cruces, NM and Cecilia S. Contreras and her husband, Robert of Midland, TX, her sister, Lupe Montoya and her husband, Elias of Santa Clara, NM, 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
María was preceded in death by her parents, Fabian and Marianna (Gonzáles) Silva, her brothers, Bernardo G. Silva, Gabriel Silva and Joe Silva, her sister, Carlota Vargas, her sons, José Perfecto Sánchez, Jr., Donociano Sánchez, Antonio Sánchez and Joe Sánchez and her daughter, Josefina Sánchez Caplinger.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Kirikos Family Funeral Home Chapel. A Prayer Vigil will follow at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church led by Deacon Adam Sánchez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Marcos O. Reyna officiating. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery.
