Birth: Jun. 21, 1843
New York, USA
Death: Jan. 13, 1923
McHenry County
North Dakota, USA

Mrs. Jerry Butts, a former resident of Glenburn, but of late years making her home with her son, Dan, of Deering, died Saturday after an illness of nearly two years. Services were held at the home Monday afternoon, and Tuesday services were held at Baptist church in Glenburn, and the body laid to rest in Fairview cemetery.

Mrs. Butts was one of the old time residents of the Pratt community to which locality she came with her husband where they resided until 1910, when they moved to Glenburn. She was a kind hearted and neighborly woman and her departure is mourned by a host of friends who found her a lovable companion.

Aseneth Helen Sill was born June 21, 1843, in New York state, and departed this life on Saturday, January 13, 1923.

When only a child the family emigrated to Kingsville, Ohio, where she grew to womanhood. On Nov. 15, 1865, she was united in marriage to Jeremiah Butts. To this union three children were born, Arthur A., Daniel S. and Willie, the later dying in infancy.

Early in life she united with the Baptist church of which she remained a follower.

Shortly after their marriage they moved to Michigan, remaining there until 1895 when they came to Orr, North Dakota, at which place they lived until 1901, when they located on a homestead east of Glenburn, and in 1910, they moved to Glenburn on account of the health of Mr. Butts, who died on Feb. 12, 1913. After the death of her husband Mrs. Butts made her home with her son, Dan, of Deering.

On July 20, 1921, she was stricken with paralysis, and since then was confined to her bed. On Tuesday last she suffered from another stroke which ended her life.

Two sons, Arthur A. and Daniel S., ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and other relatives are left to mourn their loss, besides a host of friends.

Short funeral service was conducted at the late home at Deering after which the body was taken to Glenburn where it was laid to rest in Fairview cemetery.
