Helen C. Shunk, 96, formerly of Mentone, passed way at 4:45 a.m. Friday at Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.

Born July 28, 1915, in Mentone, she was the daughter of Henry H. and Nettie (Bonnell) Griffis. On Aug. 2, 1933, she married Wayne A. Shunk, and he passed away March 20, 1972.

She was a homemaker and also owned and operated a Zenith TV Sales and Service Shop with her husband. Helen continued to do TV repair work herself after he husband passed away.

She was a member of the Mentone First Baptist Church, where she was a longtime church librarian and also taught Sunday school for many years. Helen enjoyed gardening and spending time with her friends. She was a Beaver Dam High School graduate.

Survivors include nieces from the local area, Paula Whitesell, and Betty and husband Larry Boggs, both of Warsaw. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Griffis; and one sister, Caddye Rouch.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Rev. Richard Tyson officiating. Burial will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone. Visitation is from noon-2 p.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, IN 46539.
