SHUMAN, Alma Idris Davis, age 81, of New Martinsville, W.Va., died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 in the New Martinsville Health Care Center.

She was born January 9, 1925 in Smithfield, W.Va., the daughter of the late Virgil and Blanche Fisher Davis.

She was a retired laundry supervisor from the Wetzel County Hospital; and a member of the Bridge Street Church of Christ, New Martinsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lawrence Glen Shuman on April 9, 1996; two brothers, Claude and Lewis Davis; and one sister, Chloie Irene Davis.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Billie Jo) Shuman of Glen Easton and Michael (Debra) Shuman of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; one brother, Jack Davis of Pine Grove; three sisters, Anna Lea Rose and Wanda Eddy, both of Wheeling and Shirley Shockey of Winchester, Va.; one sister-in-law, Mildred Shuman Lasure of New Martinsville; three granddaughters, Deanne (Charles) Persinger of Carmel, Ind., Jodi (Domenick) Garuccio of Florence, Ky. and Lacy Shuman of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; two grandsons, Luke (Ashley) Shuman and Peter Shuman, all of Lehigh Acres; three great-grandsons, Ryan and Kevin Garuccio and Brandon Persinger; one great- granddaughter, Alison Persinger; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Evangelist Charles Pugh, III officiating.

Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
