Emma M. Shuman, 94, formerly of Blandon, loving mother and grandmother, passed away in the Mifflin Center. Emma was a resident of Hearthstone At Maidencreek Personal Care Community for the last five years. Emma was the widow of Charles D. Shuman, who passed away in 1994. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Paul E. Reider and Virginia M. (Killian) Reider.

Emma was employed by the former Wide Awake Shirt Factory, retiring in 1979.
Emma was a member of Maidencreek Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. Emma attended Reading High School, was an avid swimmer and enjoyed walking, especially with her pet dogs.

Surviving are four sons, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren two great-great-grandchildren. Emma was predeceased by a grandson, Charles R. Shuman Jr., and also by a sister, Dorothy Diehl, and a brother, Army General Edward Reider. Interment will follow in Maidencreek Cemetery.
