Margaret Short Ansley, 90, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in The Chapel of Polk Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Garrett of Polk Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 315 E. Fifth Ave.
Mrs. Ansley was born in Decatur and moved to Amarillo in 1919. She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Texas Tech University. She had been a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church for 70 years and was active in the Women's Missionary Society.
She also was a member of the Texas Aggie Mothers Club, PTA, the Federated Women's Club, Modern Study Club and served as secretary-treasurer of West Texas Judges and Commissioners Association.
She married Thaddeus "Thad" Ansley in 1934 in Amarillo.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Anne Reid of Amarillo; a son, Charles H. Ansley of Plano; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101; St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176-0001; or Craig Methodist Retirement Community, Ninth Avenue at Amarillo Boulevard, Amarillo, TX 79101.
The family will be at 6021 Belpree Road.
