Mrs. Bash B. Bennett, 78, died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital on Thursday, September 14 and services were held the following afternoon at four o'clock at the Church of Christ, with Brother Bill Smith of Lake Village, Ark., former pastor of the church officiating.
Mrs. Bennett was born December 14, 1877, in Clifton, Tenn., the daughter of Joe and Elizabeth Brown Short. She was married to James M. Bennett in Tennessee and the family moved to Caruthersville 31 years ago. Her husband died December 3, 1952.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Nell Tate of Memphis and Mrs. Kate Nix of this city; one son, Gordon Bennett of Memphis and one sister, Mrs. Rinie Wilson of Bogota, Tenn.
Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery with LaForge Undertaking Company service.
