Frances Marie Surrett Shoemaker, 84, of Lejunior, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2009 at the Harlan ARH. She was born in Soddy, TN, but lived her life in Harlan Co.
She was an employee of the Harlan Co. School System for 35 years. She spent her life serving the Lord under the Pentecostal faith, while taking care of her family and her garden which she loves so much.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, D. Harold Shoemaker; her parents, Hazel (Roberts) and Bill Surrett; four brothers, James, Tom, George and Mandrell Surrett; two sisters, Eunice (Surrett) Owens and Lucille (Surrett) Campbell; an infant son, Harold Bruce Shoemaker; a grandchild, Harold Keith Shoemaker; and a son-in-law, Joseph Eaton.
She is survived by one sister, Grace (Surrett) Rickett, Closplint; five children, Nina Perry and husband, Lonnie, Beech Grove, IN; Jackie Eaton, Martinsville, IN; Delton Shoemaker, Lejunior; Tammie Cochran, Beech Grove, IN; George Shoemaker, Lejunior; five grandchildren, Jacquelyn Perry, Beech Grove; Lonnie Perry and wife, Brandy, Indianapolis; K. Denise Cochran, Beech Grove; Amber Eaton, Martinsville; George Harold Shoemaker, Holmes Mill; and eleven great-grandchildren, all who live in Indiana.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6 until 8pm and Saturday from 12 until 1pm at the Louellen Pentecostal Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 26, 2009, at 1 pm at the Louellen Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Clyde Addington officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers
