Doris Pearl Allen, 81, of Greenville, died January 20, 2010.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Tinsley Shockley. Doris retired from St. Francis Hospital and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her children, Joanne Settle (Jim), Steve Allen (Becky), Jackie Bridwell (John), and Tracy Carbonel (Tim); 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Tumblin (Marvin); two brothers, Leonard Shockley (Beaunice), and Clarence Shockely (Margie); and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Allen.

Doris was preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Lee Allen.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 23, 2010, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2010, in the chapel of the funeral home with entombment following at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the Child Evangelism Fellowship, P.O. Box 575, Taylors, SC 29687.
