Veda J. Aspseter, 91, of Exeland, died April 2 at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
She was born June 28, 1912 in Iowa, the daughter of John and Grace (Baker) Shinn. She moved to Wisconsin in 1918 and was a lifelong resident of the Exeland area. She was married to Harold Aspseter Sr. in Loretta, Aug. 8, 1935. The couple farmed for 20 years in Weirgor and she managed the Exeland Restaurant. She enjoyed her grandchildren and going to see them play their sports. She loved watching the deer and cooking dad’s trout. She was a great cook, loved the holidays and family gatherings, especially her birthday parties. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Harold of Exeland; three sons, Clayton (Jeanette) of Florida, Ed (Wanda) of Weyerhaeuser, Harold D. (Judy) of Exeland; three daughters, Janet (Ben) Burcalow of Washington State, Sharon (Ray) Villiard of Mosinee, Sue (Jim) Leader of Illinois; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernie Shinn of Florida; one brother-in-law, Anthony Polito of Florida; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Williard, and four sisters, Lucy, Carol, Olive and Gertie.
Funeral: A service was conducted on April 6 at the Nash-Jackan Funeral home in Bruce with Mark Bartlett and the Rev. Linda Shearer officiating.
Burial: Windfall Cemetery, Exeland.
