Daisy Mae Huggins, 100, died Friday, April 10, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Center in Olathe. She was born May 8, 1897, in Jadaun, MO. the daughter of Clarence and Bertha (Brooks) Shetterly.
She moved to Olathe as a small child. Later she lived in Mosby, Drexel, and Kansas City, MO. where her father owned a family grocery store. She married Floyd Huggins on September 20, 1915.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Olathe. She worked at the Olathe Naval Air Station from 1943 until she retired in 1962.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd in 1981; and a granddaughter, Linda Orser.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Huggins, Olathe, Ted Huggins, Shawnee, Floyd Huggins, Leawood, and Larry Huggins, Kearney, MO; three daughters, Vivian Jurgens, Olathe, Peggy Young, Hillsdale, and Shirley Sanders, Pensacola, FL; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home of Olathe. Burial will follow in Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
