Ralph King & Diane M. King
Ralph King, age 61 and Diane M. King, age 59, of Sandwich, Illinois were taken suddenly on Saturday, November 3, 2001 in an automobile accident. Ralph was born on August 24, 1940, the son of Frank and Lucille (Bray) King. Diane was born on May 3, 1942, the daughter of Donald and Margaret (Massee) Sherwin.
    Ralph and Diane were united in marriage on November 10, 1962. They would have been celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary together on Saturday of this week. Ralph and Diane were loving parents and grandparents, who will be deeply missed by their family.
    Ralph was employed, for many years, by Allsteel in Aurora until his retirement in 1988. He was an avid fisherman and spent many happy hours fishing with his family and friends. Diane was employed by the West Aurora School District as a secretary and dispatcher until her retirement in 2000. She enjoyed shopping with her family and friends.
    Ralph and Diane are survived by their two children, Jodi King of Sandwich and Donald (Kim) King of Sandwich; their three granddaughters, Kristin King, Ashley Billsland, Lisa King all of Sandwich and their grand-dog, Shadow; as well as many friends. Ralph is also survived by his brothers, Chuck and Thomas Scharf of Baltimore, Maryland and his sister, Shelby Jean Gebbia of Baltimore, Maryland.
    Ralph is preceded in death by his parents.Diane is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dale Sherwin.
    A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Plano, Illinois with Reverend David Kaul officiating. Interment will follow in the West Batavia Cemetery in Batavia.
    Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home. 1010 W. South St. Plano, Illinois.
