Bernice S. Biegert, 87, Topeka, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at a Topeka hospital.

She was born Oct. 4, 1915, at Miller, the daughter of Leo and Ollie Rothert Sherry.

Mrs. Biegert worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as an office clerk for 32 years. She retired in 1976.

She was a member of the Santa Fe Oldtimers, Topeka Lodge No. 462 OES and volunteered for the Republican Party in Topeka. She loved to travel and did so extensively during her life.

On June 11, 1943, she was married in Kansas City, Kan., to Quinton Biegert. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1972. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Dahlke and Irene Isaac.

Her surviving family includes three nieces, Carol Armstrong, of DeSoto, Barbara Thompson, of Big Lake, Ala., and Nancy Powell of Kansas City, Mo. She also is survived by numerous great-nieces, great- nephews and their families.

Mrs. Biegert was cremated. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mount Hope Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospitals in care of Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka.
