Alma Gertrude Shelley was the daughter of Evelena Alberta Christie (1877-1929) and William Newton Shelley (1876-1929).
She graduated from Analy Union High School in 1924.
She married Louis 'Louie' Clemence Scheidecker on October 13, 1928 in Sonoma County, California.
• Stewart Lee (1930-1987)
• William 'Bill' Ray (1932-__)
Soon after their marriage they started building a home on Green Valley Road. Then came the depression followed by World War II, and the home was eventually finished in the 1950's.
Alma loved to garden and cook. After Louie died, she moved to Canterbury Woods Retirement Center in Pacific Grove, California. Having been very active all of her life, she began making cookies for the residents in her apartment using a toaster oven, as there was no stove in the apartment. Eventually the staff at Canterbury saw how much the people loved her cookies and allowed her to use the commercial ovens in the dining facility. She soon became known as the "Cookie Lady" to the residents.
