Ethan & Amanda do not have gravestones. Ethan should have a military stone on his grave, he served in Company F 144th New York Infantry Regiment and Company G First Regiment New York Engineers. He mustered out of service 3 Jul 1865 at Hilton Head, South Carolina as Full Artificer. His children were awarded his military pension in 1891.
Ethan had a twin brother, Ephraim B. Shelley, born 13 Apr 1838 in Chenango County, New York, he died 4 Apr 1921 in Erie County, Pennsylvania. (proof attached in photo number 5 on this memorial) Ephraim was declared an invalid by the Veterans Administration in 1907 and was awarded a full Military pension for his service in the Civil War. His FAG memorial # is 125365184.
Ethan had a brother, Dennis B. Shelley, born in 1842. He lived in Chenango County, New York. He died in 1886 in Steuben County, New York.
All three brothers were raised in different households. This was probably due to the death of one (or both) of the parents, we do not know any of the facts. Possibly more siblings.
All three brothers served in the Civil War.
