According to his obituary, Harold John Sheets, s/o Edwin Schaffer Sheets and Grace Bethel Billhimer* (interment locations unknown), died of pneumonia at the young age of 45, in a hospital in Kanakaee (not Watseka). He was a veteran of WWI and had been in the "garage business" (mechanic?) in Rockford, as was his father, working at the Earl Bengston Co., then the city’s Cadillac-LaSalle-Oldsmobile dealer. Kelly Motor Sales took over the dealership and the building in 1939 and operated it until 1945 when it became Humphrey Cadillac and Oldsmobile. In the year preceding his death, however, he had been a superintendent in a factory in Watseka.

He was married twice. He had two sons, F. Ivan and H. Ray Sheetz, from a first marriage, to Elsie K. Meyers, and one daughter Carol, from the marriage to his second wife, Vivian.

He had one sister, Wilda Grace Sheetz Nickel (memorial#: 96905846):
