Born October 25, 1925 in Detroit, MI, to the late Harold and late Mary Thomas Sederberg. Married November 2, 1946 in Chesterton, IN to Juanita (Krone) who survives in Valparaiso; also survived by five children: Linda (Phillip) Griffith of Valparaiso, Robert (Patricia) Sheets of Hebron, Phyllis (Richard) Goin of Valparaiso, Richard H. (Josefine) Sheets of Portage and Nancy Robert) Talley of Hammond; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Donna Hamm of Valparaiso and Aunt Dorothy Fahey of Merrillville. He was preceded in death by a brother Henry Sheets and great-granddaughters Rebecah Griffith and Stephanie Jakubczak. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 24, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 W. 1100 N., Chesterton, with Pastor Ron Larson officiating. Burial, Chesterton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd Street, Chesterton, IN, and also at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service. Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Building Fund, VNA Horton Hospice Center or VNA Nursing Services. Richard was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Chesterton. He was active in Boy Scouts; a member of American Legion Post #507 of Porter; Veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from NIPSCO with construction in the Gas Dept.
