Arlene Mary Bedore, 86, of Kenosha passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Kenosha Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Arlene was born on March 8, 1926 during a snowstorm on their family farm in Salem, WI. Arlene was the youngest child of Clarence and Minnie (Haase) Sheen. Arlene graduated from Wilmot High School and attended beauty school in Milwaukee. Arlene met her husband, Donald R. Bedore on a blind date and they were married on November 25, 1950 in Salem in the house that she grew up in. She worked as a beautician in Union Grove and the Kenosha area while raising her family. Donald built their home in Pleasant Prairie and passed away at only 50 years old on November 27, 1974. Arlene remodeled part of their home to include a beauty salon and continued to have patrons even through the years of her breast cancer and chemo therapy. She enjoyed people coming into her home and made them feel welcome. Arlene worked at Great America for ten years as a supervisor. She was very involved in her church and the women's group there. She worked as a volunteer for elections at the polling stations. She made many lifelong friends. Arlene was devoted to her family. She cared for her mother and sister through their times of illness and was extremely close to her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and always made sure each one had a special meal of their choice for their birthday, and holidays were an occasion to be celebrated together. In her younger years, Arlene loved to sew and especially loved strawberry picking in June, making jam for the rest of the year. She was a compassionate and caring friend; sending cards when it finally became too hard to visit. She loved everything the color orange, kept the cookies made and ready and the bird feeders filled.

She was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband, Donald two brothers, Lester and Harold Sheen and the recent death of her youngest son, Jeff.
