ELAINE CAROL BAILEY Born on October 02, 1929 in Rochester, Minnesota to Harold and Ida Shea, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2006, at her home in Mt. Aukum, CA with her loving husband of 54 years by her side. Her husband, Richard Stanley Bailey and their seven children survive her. She was the devoted mother of her three daughters, Deborah (Louis) Breznikar, Karen (Jim) Langenstein, and Monica Bailey, and four sons, William (Laurie), Brian (Karen), Dale (Kim), and Matthew (Amy). Her 14 loving grandchildren and her brothers, Joseph, Jerome, Robert, Verne, and Mario Shea, and her loving sister, R. Marie Mac survive her. She will be deeply missed by countless friends and family. Elaine was raised in Viola, Minnesota on the Shea Family farm and graduated from Lourdes High School. She received her training as a cytotechnologist at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota. Her career as a cytotechnologist spanned over 40 years. She moved to San Francisco, CA in 1950, where she met and married the love of her life on June 21, 1952. They moved to Hayward, CA. in 1954, where they resided until they moved to Martinez, CA. in 1978. In 2001, they moved to Mt. Aukum, CA. She was an active participant in her parish Church and her children's schools. Her home was the center of many celebrations, where she loved entertaining and cooking for family and friends. Her generous and kind nature made all feel welcome. A Memorial Mass for family and friends will be celebrated on Monday, April 24, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King, Catholic Church, 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill, CA. Reception immediately following at the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Parkinson's Patients Support Groups, Inc., 1170 Morse Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089.
