Mrs. Emma Shaw Ackley, wife of James V. Ackley, passed away yesterday at her home in South Washington street.
Mrs. Ackley was born in Godmanchester, England, March 13, 1850, and was a daughter of John Shaw and Mary Clapham.
She came to America with her parents when she was two years old. In December 1866 she married James V. Ackley.
She is survived by her husband, also a sister, Mrs. Eliza Shaul; a niece, Mrs. Grace Whipple(obit says Bringle) and a nephew, Elmer Root, all of Springfield Center. One son died at the age of 21.
