NEW WOODSTOCK – Lena May Allen, 83, of Elm Street, died Wednesday morning at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, after a long illness.
She was born Oct. 8, 1888, in Cuyler, daughter of the late Milo and Elnora Breed Shaw She had lived in New Woodstock 65 years and was a member of the New Woodstock Methodist Church and its WSCS.
Mrs. Allen was a member of the New Woodstock Fireman's Auxiliary. Her husband, Carney Allen, died 15 years ago.
Surviving are a son, Benjamin F. Allen of Rochester, a Daughter Mrs. Fred Loughrey of New Woodstock, 11 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Grace Perry of New Woodstock, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 2 p m Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, Cazenovia, her son, Benjamin, and the Rev Willis Lewis officiating. Burial will be in New Woodstock Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home
