Yesterday afternoon, at her home, in East Caln township, about one mile east of Downingtown, Mrs. Elizabeth Downing Ashbridge passed away, after a lingering illness, at the advanced age of 84 years.
She was the widow of the late Abram Sharpless Ashbridge, who has been deceased for many years. She was a daughter of the late Dr. Jacob Sharpless Ashbridge of Dowingtown.
She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Douglas Perkins, Coatesville; Mrs. Clem. Rutter, Philadelphia, Mrs. Henry Eckroid, Muncy, Pa., and Miss Eleanor Ashbridge, at home. Abram Ashbridge, Richard I.D. Ashbridge, Philadelphia, and Joseph A. Ashbridge, who farms the home place.
She was a member of the Society of Friends at East Caln Meeting, and the interment will take place in the cemetery adjoining. She was a woman of fine Christian character, was very charitable, and had a very kindly disposition.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, from her late residence, near Downingtown. Interment at Downingtown Friends' Meeting House. Train leaving Broad Street Station at 12:45 will be met at Downingtown.

The funeral of the late Elizabeth Ashbridge, widow of the late Abram S. Ashbridge, of East Caln, took place, last Saturday afternoon from her late home and was very largely attended. The services were in charge of Rev. Dr. Gummey, rector of St. James' Episcopal Church. Interment was made in East Caln Friends Burying Ground.
