JEFFERSON - Services for Alma Cooner Jordan, 95, of Jefferson, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at Haggard-Heaster Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Eric Stewart and Jack Simmons officiating. Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery near Harleton. Arrangements are under the direction of Haggard-Heaster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jordan was born June 18, 1912, in Maud, Oklahoma, to Carrie Martin Sharp and John Sharp. She passed away on February 23, 2008, in Jefferson.
Mrs. Jordan was a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She owned and operated Cooners Grocery for a number of years and later worked at Tejas Village Resort.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, W.C. Cooner and Walker Jordan; son, Charles Cooner; brother, Leroy Sharp; and sisters, Ollie Ross and Ruby Morris.
Surviving relatives include her son, Ben Cooner of Jefferson; daughter-in-law, Irma P. Cooner of Longview; stepson, Howard Jordan of Woodlawn; stepdaughter, Doris Wisdom of Karnack; grandchildren, Mike Cooner, Charla Miller and Caren Easterling; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Smyrna Seekers Sunday School Class.
