AYERS, EDNA MAE - age 84 of Lake City, passed away Friday, June 30, 2006 at the U.T. Medical Center of Knoxville. Edna was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lake City and enjoyed her Joyful Sunday school class.
She was born November 4, 1921 to the late Stephen and Lou Sharp. Edna is also preceded in death by husband, John W. "Babe' Ayers Jr., brothers, James Barton Sharp and J.C. Sharp, sister, Mary Lou Baker.
Survivors: son, John Stephen Ayers, Lake City; sisters, Wanda Mitchell, Lake City, Martha Rutherford, Toledo, OH; several nieces and nephews; and host of other relatives and many friends.
Visitation- 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, July 2 at Hatmaker Funeral Home. Funeral service 8:00 P.M. Sunday, July 2 at Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Courtney officiating. Interment 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 3 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge, TN.
