Hallie Fern Shannon was daughter of Edgar Bruce Shannon and Anna Mae VanValey. Hallie married Glenn William Leggett on May 10, 1922 in Clinton, De Witt Co., IL. Glenn was the son of Robert Guthrie Leggett and Julia Alice Hixson. Halie and Glenn had three children Robert Glenn "Bob", Dale William "Bill" and Norman Eugene "Gene". Fern and Glenn farmed the same land that Glenn's father purchased in 1890 in Wapella, DeWitt Co., IL. She was a member of the First Christian Church-Wapella, DeWitt Co., IL. Her funeral service was held Feb. 9, 2007 at Calvert Funeral Home-Clinton, DeWitt Co., IL with the Ed Bacon having officiated. She is buried next to her husband.
