THE DEATH OF HENRY L. SHALLEY
Henry L. Shalley, died at his home in Stockwell at 9:20 o'clock yesterday morning after a three weeks illness.. Pneumonia was the cause of death. He was born in Pennsylvania, Dec 19, 1846, and was married there, Nov 8, 1868, to Miss Catherine Hoke. They came west in 1876 and settled at Bluffton. After remaining there a short time they went to Sidney, Ill., and remained two years. Then they went to Delphi and after a brief residence there they moved to a farm near Stockwell. They lived on the farm until seven years ago when they moved into town. Mr Shalley was a miller by trade, but had followed farming for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and was well known in Lauramie township and was held in high esteem. He is survived by the widow and four children; A. P. Shalley, of Indianapolis, and A. H. Shalley, Mrs. John Shoemaker and Mrs. Claude Johnson, all of Stockwell. The funeral will be conduced Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Stockwell Methodist church. Rev. O. P Paxton officiating interment in Johnson cemetery.
