Frances wrote that she was the daughter of Richard P. Shacklett(e) (1858-1930) and Viola Williams (1868-1907) who are buried in Buck Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Meade County, Kentucky. Frances goes on to say that Richard was a son of Elijah Shacklett and Mary Saunders.
Frances Shacklett married Byron McCauley Fast. The 1920 Census shows Frances and Byron Fast living in Pennsylvania with children Barbara and Charles.
Frances wrote that they lived in Erie, Pennsylvania from 1923-1926, then lived in Staten Island, New York City from 1926-1940.
Frances was a member of the D. A. R. (Daughters of The American Revolution). She did a great deal of work on family history including an important reading of headstones in 1930 of Meadville Cemetery and nearby High Ground Cemetery At Hill Grove, both located there in Meade County, where they were also able to supply important information regarding various relationships.
In 1967-68, Frances was hired as a genealogist by my other distant relative, Charles L. Barnes (1892-1980) of Oswego, Kansas regarding Barnes and other families in Meade County. In fact, she was working on his family history at the time of her death.
Online vital records state that Frances died in Jefferson County, Kentucky and resided in Meade County, Kentucky.
